Initially a decorator of theatrical scenes, he later turned towards landscape painting, specializing in views from the banks of the Seine.
Starting from 1902 he participated in the Salon des Artistes Indépendants; at the Salon de la Societé Nationale des Beaux-Arts until 1932 and exhibited regularly at the Salon d'Automne of which he also became a member. In 1927, 1929 and 1930 he sent his canvases to the Salon des Tuileries.
Seduced by Sisley's impressionist painting, he adopted his manner before approaching divisionism, through an in-depth study of Pissarro's canvases.

The painting is in good condition.
