The academic quality painting depicts the Holy Family by rast and was executed in 1902 by the Austro-Hungarian artist Jozsef Dragan (born 1861 in Forchtenstein (Frakno in Hungarian), now the Austrian province of Burgenland).
In 1883-1885 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna first by Christian Griepenkerl, then in 1885-1892 by CL Mueller. In 1883 he became the Academy Prize, and in 1888 - the Master's Student Prize. After studying he worked in Vienna, one of his works - decoration of the chapel of the Antonius Church, later he returned to his hometown Forchtenstein (Frankno). Jozsef Dragan was a renowned painter, whose works are exhibited in various Viennese and Austrian churches and provincial chambers.

Inscription: in German signed J.Dragan, dated 1902 and titled Vienne, lower left.
