18th Century Woodwork Mirror
We present this important original woodwork mirror, with a policeman's hat. The mirror in two parts, the gilded wood surround and a baguette known as Bérain (1640 - 1711). This imposing mirror is in a dream state and it was placed against a wall in a superb architect's house from the 60s, it came of course from elsewhere. This mirror is from the Regency period (1715/1723), the mirror part is in three parts because until after the revolution in France we did not know how to make large mirrors in a single part, we also sent workers working in Venice in Murano to spy on the technique (ref.Jean DIVO). Price for this spectacular mirror 2500 Euros. (E23)
