18th Century Allegory, Romantic Scene
We present for sale this framed allegory, oil on canvas from the 18th century under the reign of Louis XVI. This allegory represents a scene "the reading lesson" or music because at the feet of the characters there is a book of scores that we can imagine, as well as a wind instrument, a cabrette from the bagpipe family. At the back of this painting you will see some added pieces because in the hands of my talented restorer, I wanted to avoid relining. (E24)
