Tabernacle in the shape of an Antique vase in polychrome and gilded carved wood Italy Early 18th century An imposing flame in gilded carved wood sits on the top, it is surrounded by two angels, each on a cloud, placed on the handles. Important handles carved with foliage and scrolls. From each side there are garlands of flowers and florets in carved gilded wood which unite in the center with a winged cherub's head surmounted by a rim carved with a foliage frieze in gilded wood. It opens with a white lacquered oval door on which is located in the center the omniscient eye from which emerge the eight rays of the sun which rest on a cloud surrounded by four angels. (original lock operating with its key) Base of the vase decorated with leaves in carved and gilded wood resting on a pedestal. Square base framed by a carved wooden molding. Assembly of the interior in barrel, flame and cherubs of the handles in carved gilded wood, removable and posterior. Gilding with gold leaf in very good condition (partially gilded with gold leaf) The polychromy of the vase is made on a gold-veined midnight blue background. This tabernacle was originally to integrate the decor of the altar of a Church.
