Rare Solid Walnut Bench, Renaissance Style – Late 19th Century

Rare solid walnut bench, characterized by its high back and its Renaissance sculptures. It rests on 4 sets of curule-shaped feet, sculpted with acanthus leaves, ending in claw feet connected by a bar. On the front, 3 crosspieces connecting the feet are decorated with a slight carving as well as on the sides. The backrest part is made up of 2 identical elements and a wider central one. The uprights forming a separation are decorated with plant motifs and topped with grotesque heads. The seat is traditional with spring and horsehair straps, covered in an ecru upholstered canvas.
