Clock Portico époque Empire "robin"

Rare portico pendulum clock Empire signed Robin. big name in French watchmaking, watchmaker referenced in the Tardy, dictionary of French watchmakers. Composed of white marble and morello cherry, and ornamentation in gilded bronze with mercury.

Architecture with two geometrically shaped columns decorated with a row of pearls on the edges and friezes friezes of foliage and flowers. They support the entablature decorated with pine cone vases and a flame vase at the top. Large domed dial in white enamel and fine gold hands. the whole protected by a flap bezel set with a curved glass. The space between the columns is occupied by a drapery and a sun pendulum.

Rectangular base consisting of a first level in white marble then a second in morello cherry.

Original mechanism without modification, suspension with silk thread, striking hours and half hours on an old bell.
