"Lace Maker Box"
We also present a lacemaker's box from Haute-Loire (43), carved on all sides and the lid with geometric patterns. This box is probably from the end of the 19th century, it was the men who in principle sculpted these boxes in the evening at the vigil while the women made lace on their tile. The clasp is actually a hook from a cabinet or sideboard. It is made of fruit wood. (E23) No. 5 Ref. .................. YB291
