This large chalice measuring 29.5 cm is made of gilded brass and its tulip-shaped cup is made of vermeil.
It is the work of the master Parisian goldsmith, Alexandre Thierry, active from 1823 to 1853.
The medalist Florent Montagny (1760-1836) is the engraver of the three medallions on the cup. Interesting property mark indicated under the chalice "GB Prévost", undoubtedly the abbot first recipient of this piece.
Good condition.
