Domenico Bossi (1767-1853) Miniature under glass depicting a gentleman. Signed and dated 1792. Oval gilded bronze frame. Large frame: height 15 cm, width 13.5 cm. Gilded bronze frame: height 10 cm, width 9 cm. View: height 7.5 cm, width 6 cm. A student of Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo, Bossi was born in Trieste and worked mainly as a miniaturist in Germany, Austria, Sweden and Russia before settling in Munich, where he lived at 19 Theresien Straße around 1850.
