"A Louis XVI Armchair By Boulard From The Palais De Fontainebleau"
Lacquered beech armchair.
Tapered legs, with rough grooves, connecting dice decorated with flowers.
Stamped on the front crossbar JB Boulard, stenciled in the belt F 829. JB Boulard, Jean-Baptiste Boulard (1725-1789) got his master on April 17, 1754, supplier to the Crown. F 829, corresponds to the 1787 inventory of the Château de Fontainebleau. The armchair is located in apartment XXIII in the kitchen courtyard of the castle, which is occupied by the Marquis de Talaru.

The armchair appears in the dining room; it is included in a set consisting of 6 armchairs and 18 chairs. These seats are covered with embossed carpet striped in red and yellow with a green background, the wood is square in shape with moldings, sheathed legs, painted white, nailed with golden nails with false gold braid underneath.

Condition report: Restored and upholstered (with old Lyon silk) by our workshop in April 2023.
