"18th Century Oak Console Louis 16 Period"
Oak console from the Louis 16 period, France, End of the 18th century, Circa 1780, the three aprons carved with foliage, resting on two square-section front legs, fluted and roughened on all four sides. With its original Sainte-Anne gray marble. The rear legs were added later, to give it a console table appearance that was easier to handle. It is simple to remove the back legs which are simply screwed if you want to restore its original appearance as a wall console (the original rear apron has the two holes allowing it to be fixed to the wall. This pretty console has been re-lacquered very badly when installing the rear legs, we therefore chose to strip and wax it, in order to enhance the beautiful blonde color of the oak used.
