Cartel Clock Louis XV Style "with Putto with a Torch" in Gilt Bronze "Barbedienne Paris" XIXth Large and elegant Cartel Clock to be placed and with openwork Terrace in chiseled and gilded bronzes in the Louis XV Rocaille Style "with Putto with a flaming torch" Period Mid-19th century circa 1860, signed F. Barbedienne, and "Dupont Paris" for watchmaking. (listed as Tardy). Very beautiful quality movement with Brocot escapement. Beautiful proportions and overall dimensions: Height 52 cm Width 30 cm Depth 20 cm Width at dial level 21 cm. Perfect original condition, tiny traces of use and age. Superb carving and exceptional original matte and shiny gilding. Magnificent assembly of the whole. The Cartel Clock is in a violin shape placed on a beautiful openwork terrace, it is composed on all sides decorated with numerous stylized acanthus leaves, volutes, moldings, foliage, and shells with four arched legs in volute shapes different in a pure Louis In the central part, faces a Superb large dial (14 cm L) surrounded in gilded bronze and chiseled with decoration of rich foliage and foliage, and shells, and with a beautiful dial in perfect condition, in white enamel with beautiful Roman numerals for the hours with a railway track for the minutes and with Arabic numerals, the whole is circled with a bronze molding frame decorated with streaks, and opening with a beautiful original curved and beveled glass bezel for access for reassembly and protection.
