"Picault - Escholier, Bronze Sculpture, XIXth Century"
Large bronze bust with double patina, of a character named "Escholier" from the 14th century: the 3/4 profil man is dressed in a cape, wears a large medallion and a hat (missing the feather in the hat)

The base bears the title of the work and is decorated with a lion's head bearing a coat of arms dated 1350 in the mouth, also inspired by the Middle Ages

This sculpture is signed Picault (Emile 1833-1915): French sculptor frequently exhibited in the Salon des Artites between 1863 to 1914
His work is rich in busts and foot sculptures of mythical characters or warriors

Good general condition, patina of time and a small shock to the base
