Large bronze bust with double patina, of a character named "Escholier" from the 14th century: the 3/4 profil man is dressed in a cape, wears a large medallion and a hat (missing the feather in the hat)The base bears the title of the work and is decorated with a lion's head bearing a coat of arms dated 1350 in the mouth, also inspired by the Middle Ages
This sculpture is signed Picault (Emile 1833-1915): French sculptor frequently exhibited in the Salon des Artites between 1863 to 1914
His work is rich in busts and foot sculptures of mythical characters or warriors
