Middle Or Empire Style Console Table From The Napoleon III Period
Ceremonial table in the middle or as a console in the 1st Empire style in mahogany mounted on an oak frame. It has 4 feet lined with exceptional gilded bronzes decorated with winged lion heads. The 8 faces of the angles of the tops of the feet are decorated with bronzes representing Athenian women carrying cornucopias at arm's length. The feet are scratched in bronze. A spacer joins the 4 feet. It opens with 2 drawers on the front also decorated with superb bronze with Athenian decorations in terms of facing. It is topped with a 3 cm thick sea green marble. This table can be placed in a living room, a library or an entrance. It has been re-varnished with a buffer and the gilded bronzes dismantled, cleaned and reassembled.
