Large Maravijaya Buddha, Burma (Myanmar), late 19th century. the Awakened is represented in vajrasana on his double lotiform base, hands in bhumisparsha mudra. Carved wood, red lacquer and gilding. Wear and losses on the lower part of the base. Provenance: Personal collection of art dealer Claude de Marteau.
