We owe him seats of good quality. LANGLOIS Pierre-Éloi Pierre-Éloi Langlois (1738 - November 5, 1805) - seat carpenter. Master September 7, 1774. Manufactured works, signed: P.-E. Langlois. Pierre-Eloi Langlois acquired his master's degree in 1774 and settled in rue de Lappe until the Revolution, then transferred his studio to the Cour de la Juiverie, near the Bastille ditches. This craftsman is best known for his chairs, with simple and pure lines, produced during the end of the reign of Louis XVI and the Directory. The mahogany he was particularly fond of was of very good quality and many models with openwork grid files were molded or adorned with discreet carvings.
