Jacques Coquillay Le sein, 1983 Bronze, signed and numbered Height 31 cm Width 15 cm Depth 20 cm All of Jacques Coquillay's sculptures are made using "lost wax". The edition of the bronzes is limited by law to 8 copies, to which are added 4 annotated artist's proofs. EA and numbered from I to IV, i.e. a total of 12 copies. The bronzes are signed, numbered, and marked with the stamp of the founder. All were made with the agreement and control of the artist. Jacques Coquillay was born on June 3, 1935. He entered the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Tours in the sculpture section. In 1958, he obtained the National Diploma in Sculpture. He is a student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the studio of Marcel Gimond. In 1960, he obtained the Higher Diploma of Plastic Art 30-09-2009 (with honors). On the death of Gimond, he entered the studio of Hubert Yencesse and Raymond Corbin. In 1961, he was accepted at the Concours de Rome - Logiste. In the Jury of the Prix de Rome, he meets Jean Carton, Raymond Martin and Georges Hilbert with whom he becomes friends. He formed a group of Young Sculptors, helped by Belmondo, and produced several group exhibitions. In 1972, he met Dunoyer de Segonzac who encouraged him and bought his first bronzes. In 1983, he was elected to the Vice - Presidency of French Artists. Retrospective of Coquillay's work at the Salon d'Automne 1992. Prix Jehan des Vignes-Rouges, Academy of Versailles in 1993. Appointed Painter of the Navy in 1995. Museums: Modern Art of the City of Paris (Torso de Jeune fille) Contemporary Art of Fontainebleau (Maternity) Rapin Museum in Villeneuve-sur-Lot (Ondine) Lambinet Museum in Versailles.
