Important (diameter 54cm) embossed copper pageantry dish with deep relief gadroons and in its center a coat of arms (?): poppy flower standing on its stem, in an architectural cartouche typical of 16th century
This presentation dish seems characteristic of productions of the Offering dishes or rather presentation dishes from the Venetian 16th venitian workshopsThese dishes were often made of brass, often richly carved, and sometimes partially enamelled.
OUr dish dimensions are spectacular - diameter 54cm and about 4.5cm deep.
Condition, some cuts to the copper on the edge, easily restoreable with tin, and possibly original suspension holes on the center (see photos)
