"Sheep grazing, Mazet Reboul" (Barthelasse, Avignon)
ca 1890-1895

Oil on canvas depicting a sheep pasture scene on the island of Barthelasse (Mazet Reboul) opposite the Palais des Papes . The work is signed lower right and on the back of the frame on an old label. Old Collection Gleize Jospeh Meissonier was a pupil of the painter Pierre Grivolas, Camille Sain and Paul Dufour. He exhibited at the Salon of French artists from 1887. He regularly attends exhibitions Vauclusienne of the Society of Friends of the Arts and of the Group of Thirteen.
