Vase with a character (fisherman?) sailing on a traditional reed raft. It has a characteristic stirrup-shaped spout. The vessel is ceramic fired under oxygen restriction conditions to produce a black surface, which has then been polished. Peru, Chimu culture, 10th-15th century. Length about 17 cm, height 16.7 cm, width 8.5 cm. Condition as seen in photographs, good, visible spout sticking.
