Sculpture in bronze with medal patina representing a cherub with birds, sitting on a cloud decorated with flowers, symbolizing " The awakening of Spring". Cast iron of old edition, signature on the terrace Eug.Robert. Very nice quality of chasing, slight wear of the patina.

Eugène Robert (born in Pau, 1831-1912) , sculptor, French school.
Student of Mathurin Moreau. He made his debut at the Salon in 1874. Member of the French Artists since 1887. He obtained an honorable mention in 1880, 1881, 1884 and 1885. Third class medal in 1888, honorable mention in 1889 at the Universal Exhibition in Paris, Knight of the Legion of Honor and silver medal in 1900 at the Universal Exhibition in Paris. The Museum of Roubaix preserves of him "Le Brocchio".
