Old covered cup or incense burner in bronze with mythological decoration. Very beautiful decoration of vestal virgins dancing in the round around the cup. Taken from the anthropomorphic lid depicting the god pan playing the flute. On either side, two loves in gilded bronze seem to fall asleep to the sound of the flute. Particular care given to the triple patina, to accentuate the details. Work from the middle of the 19th century, in the style of objects discovered in Pompei and acquired during the Grand Tour. 24cm high Complete and in good condition
