Embroidered Silk Pouch With Two Compartments Revolutionary Period 1789 1794
Pouch in blue silk, interior of the compartments in cream silk, decoration embroidered in polychrome silk in chain stitch enhanced with strips and sequins. For the outside: one side numbered in a circle held by a beribboned garland, and polychrome flowers, one side with a similar garland frame, hosting a revolutionary period decoration with crossed rake and stick. Inside: the front of each compartment is decorated with flower garlands. Revolutionary period: 1789 1794. Condition: good condition for its time and the fragility of its materials, but to report lack of blades and sequins, the metallic thread border is disjointed in places, stains, the cream lining has slightly frayed on the edge, between the two compartments. Dimensions: closed pouch 16 x 10 cm, open pouch 16 x 20 cm.
