Circa 1775 France Habit of a French gentleman in miniature velvet dating from the Louis XV / Louis XVI transition period around 1775. Savant velvet called Miniature in cut silk velvet brocade. Herringbone effect stripes in red, green and cream. Suit with small raised collar, complete with its original sewn buttons covered with velvet, and its buttonholes. Cuffs and two real flap pockets. Original cream silk satin lining. Apart from a few very rare fraying at the collar of the silk lining, this coat is in an exceptionally fresh state for its time.
