Beautiful portrait in pastels of a young Provencal woman holding a jug of water. According to her dress and her headdress, she could be from the region of Grace or Menton, around 1820 - 1850. She is standing, in the background we can make out a terrace overlooking the landscape. A black ribbon tied to his left wrist could indicate the mourning of a loved one. The set is framed by a half-rush molding in gilded wood of old invoice.
