Pupil of Bonnat, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1900 to 1939. He had married, in 1909, Germaine, the daughter of Albert Besnard. Henry Lerolle was among the witnesses. He will assist his father-in-law in setting up the canvases decorating the dome of the Petit Palais. Besnard represents him in uniform in a pastel from 1916. He was promoted to the rank of Commander of the Legion of Honor.
