Bronze gothic emblem, 14-15th century
This emblem represents St John the Evangelist. Sat writing down his gospel, he wears a long tunic and his head is crowned by a halo. On the right side on a stool sits a lectern where appears the gospel as a phylactery. On another stool on the left, an eagle, symbol of St John.
There is a hooked tip as a fastening buckle on the back of the emblem.
Very good condition, tiny distortions (see pictures).
