Object description :

"Scriban - Bookcase In Solid Blond Oak, Origin England - 1920/1930"
English cabinet forming Showcase / Scriban / Buffet, in solid Blond Oak, which we will choose to describe in three stages. The top element, crowned by a molded Cornice, consists of a Library, opening by two glazed doors with bars. They discover two 22 cm deep shelves, on racks and therefore adjustable as desired over a total storage height of 82 cm. The second component is a Scriban with an inclined flap, held horizontally unfolded by an original Wooden Compass system called 'on the knees'. It reveals a space consisting of eight niches and two small drawers with wooden pull buttons, and offers a work area 83.5 cm long by 53 cm wide. The lower part is a small sideboard, with two doors with paneled panels. The interior is organized into two compartments, lined respectively with two and three shelves placed on fixed cleats. Each of these three elements locks and is provided with its key. We will particularly appreciate the pretty Red Copper keyholes on the doors. The whole rests on a wide plinth modestly scalloped on the front and on the sides. We will remember from this Centenary piece of furniture the subtle combination of its reasonable dimensions and its multifunctionality. In addition, thanks to its charming Light color and its great Sobriety, it will be able to personalize both a Rustic interior and a Contemporary Home. ******** Period: 1920 / 1930 Perfect condition after restoration in our workshop.
