Late 18th Century Thumb Stamp.
This thumb stamp is in silver set with marcasites for the grip and in pompom mounted with a carnelian for the stamp. The stone is engraved with a flower and the inscription "LOVE". probably hung on a chatelaine worn on the belt with other small objects this seal must have been used often and shows wear and some lack of marcasites. Period end of the 18th century. Dimensions 2.1 cm x 1.6 cm, high 2.6 cm.
