Very nice music box called "De Gare". Music boxes of this type were often placed at train stations. Equipped with a coin mechanism, they allowed travelers to have fun while waiting for their train. In this model, when a piece is introduced, the four dancers begin to twirl while the music plays. Eight tunes thanks to the simultaneous play of several similar reeds. Each tune lasts a little less than a minute. Manufactured in Switzerland at the end of the 19th century Dimensions: Width: 72 cm. Height: 80cm. Depth: 42cm.
