Art Deco rosewood bookcase. Its stepped-front design showcases unparalleled craftsmanship for a piece from this era (circa 1930). The cabinetmaker highlights the continuous wood grain running vertically across the doors of the lower section (80 cm of woodwork height). The recessed plinth further enhances the structure, while the absence of a cornice accentuates the framing of the upper doors. Brass trim, featuring mitered joints, runs along both sides, framing the inward-opening doors (95 cm wide, 29 cm deep). In the center, the doors operate on ball-bearing runners—also made of brass—located at both the top and bottom (165.5 cm wide). The unit retains its original glass, frames, locks, and keys (only the central key is missing). The interior layout of the lower section features shelves on the left (ideal for storing papers), ogee-fronted drawers in the center (suitable for linens or office supplies, with additional shelving), and vertical document storage on the right. The bookcase features fixed solid mahogany shelves: 31 cm high in the center section and 26 cm high on the sides. The entire unit can be dismantled into five parts.
