Allegory Of Children With Drums

Allegory of children with drums. The heptagonal frieze is based on an alternation of three scenes of children symbolized by drums. They are framed within this geometric structure, all in high relief. The realism of the projecting base reveals a scene with carefully rendered drapery and faces; the body then becomes a mise en abyme. The laurel wreath and the naturalistic faces suggest a spiritual childhood. The asymmetry, imbalances, and imperfections of the base reflect its era. The heptagonal form is concealed by the asymmetrical round container. Rare piece. Delivery possible, not included in the price.
