A large relief made using the Shibayama technique. It is a sculptural art in which the artist combines different materials. Precious materials are used as inlays or applications on the carved surface of the lacquered wood. In this case, the sconces are made of two types of bone: buffalo and ivory, wood and mother-of-pearl. The artist depicted the composition in a tylu kachō-ga, or image of birds and flowers.
