A large relief made using the Shibayama technique. It is a sculptural art in which the artist combines different materials. Precious materials are used as inlays or applications on the carved surface of the lacquered wood. In this case, the sconces are made of two types of bone: buffalo and ivory, wood and mother-of-pearl. The artist depicted the composition in a tylu kachō-ga, or image of birds and flowers. The centerpiece is a majestic eagle with finely engraved details. Japan, Meiji era (1868-1912). Signature presented on the photos. The Shibayama technique was initiated between 1772 and 1781 by Onoki Senzo, whose hometown of Shibayama became the name of the technique invented by the Japanese artist. Size 76 x 42 cm. Condition as seen in the photographs, fairly good, minor losses. Free delivery in EU. ! I send parcels by insured courier (DPD or DHL). All items are packaged very carefully. As for payment, the most convenient for me is bank transfer.
