Child with a jar, large bronze sculpture with a brown patina for the child and an imitation of terracotta for the jar, it is signed Auguste Moreau and Charles Gautier bronzier on the terrace, the jar decorated with a faun mask was intended to receive a lamp or a circular container.
Old cast iron from the second half of the 19th century, original patina in a beautiful state of conservation.
Auguste MOREAU (1834-1917) French sculptor, third son of the statuary and painter Jean Baptiste MOREAU, he began at the salon in 1861 and exhibited there regularly until 1913, many bronzes are among his submissions to the salon.
