This oil on canvas is from the first part of the 19th century. It probably represents a mill, a river scene with characters, a forest in the Barbizonian style. The work is signed A. Tamizier. Claude Auguste Tamizier (1818-1889) is a French painter. The whole is framed in a palmette frame with leaf gilding. The frame is very rugged. Note rubbing and scratches on the frame as well as gaps around the edge. The work has not been restored, it has some damage, we report stains, friction and wear as well as cracks.
