"Saint Wenceslas- 17th Century Wood Sculpture"

A 10th century martyr, Saint Wenceslsas is the patron saint of Czechs, wine growers and brewers. Wooden sculpture, in the round and formerly polychromed, it is a finely worked bust representing Saint Wenceslas.
He is placed on a massive plinth bearing his initials mixed with an Orthodox Cross.
Dimensions of 42 cm high, 23 cm wide and 12 cm deep.
A 17th century work.
