Pelican Velvet Chasuble - Nineteenth

Violet is essentially the liturgical color of the time of penances, ie Advent and Lent. This 19th century velvet chasuble is richly decorated with metal inserts and silver thread arranged around a central Pelican.
This beautiful symbol of Christ nourishing men with his body and his blood. By extension, it is also a symbol of Charity. Its dimensions, for the front face alone, are 112 cm long by 70 wide. Pink fabric lining.
