Bronze Statue By André Massoulle flag

Object description :

"Bronze Statue By André Massoulle"
Trampling the Roman standard, this muscular warrior, sword in hand, is in an attitude evoking courage and will. Titled "The Gallic winner" it was in 1882 that this work by André Massoulle was presented to the public. The proposed example in bronze, cast by Thiebaut Frères in Paris, dates from the end of the 19th century (around 1890). A similar edition (larger) produced by the same founder is exhibited at the Roger Quillot Art Museum in Clermont-Ferrand. The nuanced brown to orange patina is original, good general condition of presentation with natural age wear, deformations on a fin of the helmet and the sword visible in the images. André Paul Arthur Massoulle 1851/1901 was born in Epernay (Marne) the works of this artist are visible in many public places, on the Alexandre III bridge in Paris he is the author of the Genie with the trident and a Néreide.
