Important ceremonial armchair with high Baroque style back in walnut richly carved on the armrests consoles of grotesque heads, the backrest supported by puttis with the body of newts, the whole resting on a strong base consisting of leafy windings leaving appear a stylized cartouche in its center. Based on a model by Andrea Brustolon. Period: Venice XIXth Yellow damask trim. Dimensions: 86 x 96 x 123cm History: Our ceremonial armchair is inspired by the large Baroque seats made by the sculptor carpenter Andrea Brustolon (1662-1732) whose model is today kept in the collection of the CA'Rezzonico Palace in Venice.
