"Nymph Of Diane By Mme Signoret-ledieu"
Known under the title "Nymph of Diana", this statue represents Diana the Huntress leaning over a dolphin emerging from the waves. Important bronze group with original medal patina, placed on a rotating base (width 31 cm), old cast from the late 19th century, numbered and benefiting from remarkable quality workmanship. On the base appears the name of the author Mrs. Signoret Ledieu who had presented a copy of this sculpture at the Salon of 1891. Work of very beautiful appearance according to its age, slight alteration of use of the patina. Lucie Signoret-Ledieu was born in 1858 in Nevers, she was trained in her art with the sculptor Jean Gautherin and from 1878 she exhibited at the Paris Salon until 1902. Her talent recognized by numerous awards, her sculptures are visible in the museums and there is also a large statue of Joan of Arc inaugurated on the town square of Saint-Pierre-le-Moûtier in 1902.
