"The Fetish. André Bloc Stone Sculpture Around 1950."
This little fetish in direct carving by the architect and sculptor André Bloc is inspired by archeology and in particular from Iberian art or even from Easter Island. André Bloc offered this sculpture to Jean Chemineau (1916-1964), an architect himself, friend and contributor to various André Bloc reviews including Art Today. This work comes from the descendants of Jean Chemineau, and acquired from Sophie Chemineau, actress and goddaughter of André Bloc. The piece is signed. It appeared in the Cornette de Saint Cyr lot 33 sale of the sale of June 28, 2018.
