"Hajime Kato (1925/2000) Japanese Painter Of The"
Japanese painter from the "New School" in Paris. Henri Gsel Prize at the National Salon of Fine Arts in 1975. Special prize from the Ministry of the Environment on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the National Fine Arts Salon. 2006: Major retrospective of the artist's work at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. (Biography attached). Work presented: Gouache painting on paper (52 X 33; 5 cm) "Abstract composition" signed lower right "H KATO" dated "1960". Original work executed in 1960. Framed work: Under UV anti-reflective glass. Sheet placed in a relief mount on a non-acid backing cardboard. Square baguette in bleached wood.
