Object description :

"Attributed To Isidore Pils (1813-1875) Portrait Of Young Man, Watercolor"
Attributed to Isidore Pils (1813-1875)
Portrait of young man
Watercolor on paper, mounted on cardboard
26.5 x 21 cm
In a modern frame : 42 x 36 cm
In quite good condition, a little bit dusty, some scratches : one in the left of the hat (see picture) an other one in the lower left
To compare to a watercolor by Isidore Pils, representing the same man in the same pose, sold in New York by Sotheby's on January 27, 2007. This one was signed so more easily attribuable to the artist. There are some little differences between the two versions but it's obvious they were painted by the same hand.
