Precious feather holder, mounted silver, (French hallmarks), ending with a chiseled silver wax seal in the shape of a Corinthian column, Napoleon III period, object in its original case trimmed with red silk. This feathers is a piece of glassware particularly rare, marbled glass paste, decorated in the style of polished agate, called Lithyalin, beautiful color and beautiful jaspé, 6 facets beveled, in excellent condition: no cracks, no 'shine, no scratches on the surface, the polish is superb.

Lithyaline glass: A type of opaque marbled glass specially designed to look like hard stones. It was invented by Friedrich Egermann in 1828 and patented immediately. Friedrich Egermann (1777-1864) director of Haida, glassware workshop in Bohemia, shop in Vienna.
