"Small Jumping Commode By Schwingkens, Eighteenth Century"
Charming little chest of drawers "to be placed between two windows" in kingwood of Louis XV period but still in the Regence style.
Red marble on the top.

Guillaume Schwingkens settled in Paris in the 1720s, and gots quickly his master. He left us small furniture whose work of proportions is very neat. The Louvre Museum keeps this cabinetmaker a charming little tombeau chest of drawers.

Conditions Report: Restored in our workshop in August-September 2017. Stamp varnish. Traces of old restorations, mainly veneer grafts on the bottom of the feet. Handles of origin, entries of locks and hooves reported. 18th century locks but reported.
