Louis XVI Writing Desk In End Grain Wood, 18th Century flag

Object description :

"Louis XVI Writing Desk In End Grain Wood, 18th Century"
Guillotine writing desk, in end grain wood, Louis XVI period.
Important and rare writing desk, called "guillotine", in end grain wood (laburnum) and mahogany, of the Louis XVI period. The flap discovers a theater composed of some storage spaces and six small drawers.

Due to its scarcity, we know little about end wood furniture, in any case none of the statements we have found can be scientifically controlled. The only thing we know for sure is the essence of wood, the laburnum.
