"Porcelain China Imari East India Company Eighteenth Century."
China porcelain plate for the French East Indies Company, decorated in the Japanese style of Imari, white porcelain decorated with blue under a red iron covering. - on the wing, all around runs a border of red lattice of dark iron in blue cartridges with bevelled sections united by blue florets cut of masses of red and blue flowers. - on the marli, all around in dark iron red a concentric lattice geometric to four red flowers with four petals sectioned four reserves bounded by blue strokes. - on the basin, from a large floral decoration to the bird circled blue pierced rock and lice from which rays outward from the stalks of periwinkle flowers, carnations and other red and blue field flowers. Qing dynasty Qianlong period (1736-1795) Era China 18th century. A slight engrenure (at 10h) without any restoration. Diameter 22.5cm.
