Object description :

"Gothic Candlestick In Bronze France XVIth Century"
Gothic Candlestick also called "Roman" in bronze. One could even speak of brass so much the bronzes high time are inimitable. Binet crossing a round hole on one side and on the other side a rectangular window. There are some defects in the bronze, the window is deformed and the column has a hole due to a defect in the molding. It should be remembered that these candlesticks are full, made in two pieces, the barrel and the foot. These two parts were melted separately in sand molds, assembled by riveting and then taken up again to remove the granular appearance of the molding. Many candlesticks like this one took the game and we were soldered. This one is in its original assembly. height 18 cm, 12 cm for the diameter of the foot.
