Jan van Os is a Dutch painter born February 23, 1744 in Middleharnis (Netherlands) he was a pupil of Aert Schouman in The Hague, in 1773 he was registered in the brotherhood of painters of this city where he died in 1808. After a career as a marine painter, he specialized in painting still lifes and flowers.
